Help the Friends of the Library grow. Support Marshall County Memorial Library by joining!
The Friends of the Library is a group of citizens who volunteer their time to help MCML promote its programs and services to the community. Friends of the Library members contribute to MCML’s success in a variety of ways:
*Volunteering on behalf of the library at community events such as Mayfest, Goats, Music and More Festival, Bark in the Park and more
*Helping the library to create and implement innovative programming
*Advocating for the library in the community and to the library’s funders
*Donating to support Friends of the Library activities and programs

Marshall County Memorial Library Donation Policy


All donated materials must:
  • Have been published within the last 2 calendar years
    • Check the copyright date on the back of the title page for this information
  • Be in new or nearly new condition
  • Be something you wouldn’t be embarrassed by if your Grandmother found it in your house
We do not take:
  • VHS tapes
  • Encyclopedia sets
  • Any music media or CDs
  • Periodicals
Thank you for your consideration in helping us to maintain a current and well-used collection of materials for our community.
 

Volunteering at the Library

MCML can always use volunteers to help us maintain the library. You can volunteer in a variety of ways:
*Helping us to keep the library in order by working with staff to keep all of our collections in shelf order
*Helping with story time or other library programming
*Lending your skills to the library by hosting a program on something with which you have expertise
*Joining the MCML Friends of the Library group

Monetary Contributions to the Library

Marshall County Memorial Library offers people the opportunity to purchase books or donate to the library in memory or in honor of friends and family members. Each memorial or honor book donated to the library will be embossed with a memorial plaque honoring the designee.

If you wish to donate a memorial or honor book to the library you may do so by coming to either library location in Lewisburg or Chapel Hill or by calling the library at 931-359-3335 or emailing us at sstanley.mcmlib@gmail.com.

You may choose a book that we have on display for sale, you may designate a certain title or subject of book for purchase or you may choose to allow the library staff to purchase a book that is needed for the collection.

You may also donate to our summer reading program or our general book fund at the library. We accept cash and checks for these donations.

Marshall County Memorial Library Foundation

Since the Foundation’s inception in 2005, donations have funded a number of important projects, including: the ProQuest research database, Ancestory.com, the automated on-line card catalog, computers, furniture and microfilm reader.

The most recent project funded by the Foundation is the installation of a new "front lawn" for the library. This was done in conjunction with the Leadership Marshall class of 2014-2015 and includes outdoor seating and a new set of stairs leading to the front lawn.

The Marshall County Memorial Library Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to assisting the Marshall County Memorial Library expand and improve services to the community. The Foundation’s long-range goal is the establishment of a fund for the renovation, expansion, and/or construction of additional library facilities. To achieve this goal, the Foundation works closely with the library’s Board of Directors and the library's Director and solicits community support. The Foundation’s efforts are supported solely by the community. With your help Marshall County Memorial Library can continue to grow and reach more of the community than ever before. Every gift to the Foundation goes directly to further the goals of the library. All contributions are tax-deductible. The Foundation is grateful for all gifts.
